Sports Osteopathy
Sports injuries are frustrating — whether it’s a strain, sprain, overuse issue, or something that came out of nowhere. You’re often left wondering: Do I need an osteopath, a physiotherapist, or a chiropractor?
The truth is, most people just want a simple way to recover properly and get back to the sport or activity they love.
As an osteopath — and as a lifelong athlete who trains most days — I understand both the frustration of being sidelined and the importance of returning to performance. My vocation has always been about helping people move well, recover from setbacks, and stay active in the sport they love.
That’s why my Sports Osteopathy service is built around three distinct pathways, so you always get the right approach for your situation:
- Recovery & Performance Tune-Up — stay fresh, balanced, and ready
- Complex Injury Rehab & Coaching — structured recovery for long-term progress
- Strength & Conditioning Support — build capacity, reduce risk, and enhance performance
Option 1: Recovery & Performance Tune-Up
Best for:
- Athletes and recreational athletes managing training load and recovery
- Relieving tightness, soreness, or muscle fatigue
- Maintaining body balance between training sessions
- Ideal for off days or recovery days
- Regular check-ins with an osteopath for conditioning, aches, and soreness
What’s included:
- Joint mobilisations and gentle adjustments (clicking if needed)
- Deep tissue and soft tissue release
- Dry needling / medical acupuncture
- Passive stretches and mobility work on the table
- Discussion on training load, recovery, and strategies
Think of this as your personal reset button — targeted osteopathic care designed to help you recover faster, move better, and stay ready for the next challenge. Ideal for recovery days, off-days, or whenever your body needs focused support.

If your injury is complex, unresolved, or limiting your training, manual therapy alone isn’t enough. What you need is a structured rehabilitation plan — starting with a detailed consultation, assessment, and needs analysis. Manual therapy still supports recovery, but as part of a wider process.
The process includes:
- Initial assessment & needs analysis — exploring not just your medical history, but your lifestyle and sport-specific demands. The goal: reduce interference between activities and tune your training for gradual, progressive recovery.
- Goal setting — whether it’s pain-free training, competition preparation, or long-term resilience.
- Rehabilitation plan — guiding you through acute recovery, capacity-building, and return-to-sport phases.
This may be a short 5-week program or a structured 3–6 month coaching plan, delivered online or in person.

Best for:
- Runners, cyclists, martial artists, boxers, dancers, climbers, yoga practitioners, and more
- Building general preparedness and reducing injury risk
- Complementing sport training with strength, cardio, and mobility
What’s included:
- Needs analysis and tailored strength & conditioning plan
- Education on recovery, energy systems, and nutrition
- Ongoing feedback and online support with video reviews
- In London: 1-to-1 personal training in independent gyms — focusing on squats, deadlifts, plyometrics, mobility, and screening
Often, aches and pains come from not having a balanced strength & conditioning routine. Sports create specific adaptations, which can lead to imbalances, stiffness, and overuse injuries.
The solution: build capacity with a strength & conditioning program that complements your sport. This improves performance, reduces injury risk, and builds long-term resilience.

Do I need a GP referral?
No — you can book directly. I’ll carry out a full assessment to ensure osteopathy is safe and suitable for your case.
How do I know if I need a tune-up or rehab?
If your injury is severe, ongoing, or limiting your activity, you’ll benefit from a structured rehab plan (Option 2). For mild tightness, soreness, or fatigue, a tune-up (Option 1) is usually enough.
Can osteopathy really help with sports performance?
Yes. Manual therapy, mobility work, and dry needling can aid recovery and reduce stiffness, while strength & conditioning builds long-term resilience and improves performance.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable sportswear that allows free movement. You may be asked to adjust modestly depending on treatment.
How many sessions will I need?
Option 1: Use as needed — it’s a supportive recovery tool. Option 2: Usually 5 weeks minimum, sometimes 3–6 months for complex rehab. Option 3: Flexible — from one-off program design to ongoing coaching.
Do you only cover London?
I provide home visits across London. For athletes outside London, I offer online rehab and strength & conditioning coaching worldwide.
